Hanover Backgammon Set is a carefully considered combination of materials - selected to suit all levels of play, from the professional player to the recreational and new player. The exterior case of saddle leather features defining stitch lines and burnished edges. The smooth lambskin of the playing field is specially selected for speed of play, and the points are cut and inlaid with finesse. The ball-cornered dice - to roll across the leather - are casino quality precision dice. Resin stones (or counters) will move quickly across the playing field, and when not in play are stored in leather lined compartments alongside the leather dice cups and the doubling cube. The case closes with palladium finish key locks. The Hanover Backgammon, available in three sizes, will adorn your home or make a memorable gift.
About the Material Rightly considered a British tradition, this beautiful, hard-wearing saddle leather has been produced by tanners and manufacturers for equestrian use for centuries. The beauty of this type of leather transfers exceptionally well to leather-goods. The vegetable tanning and natural dying processes make for the most distinctive appearance enhanced by stitching, edging and veining.
Product Care Saddle leather is a traditional quality of leather that evolves, changes, softens and patinas over time, and Asprey saddle leather products maintain the visible characteristics of the leather. Maintain its beauty to ensure it endures through time. Avoid direct contact with heat, water, light & oil, as well as any situation that is either too humid or dry. Wipe away any moisture as soon as possible. When not in use, store your leather product in the dust bag provided and in a clean, dry, temperate atmosphere. Commercial care products are not kind to Asprey saddle leather products. A soft dry cloth is sufficient to maintain the beauty of the leather. Should there be a problem, we recommend you contact us for some expert TLC, using the Asprey after-sales service.

This masterpiece of the silversmith's craft was created in the Asprey workshops in the 1980s. Lifelike and exquisitely graceful, it was the pride of the Rosalind and Arthur Gilbert's villa in LA. It has been displayed at London's Victoria & Albert museum since October 2016.
